The Lights Are On! Commissioning Portland’s First Agamine Solar Streetlights at Verde

Following the incredible momentum and energy of the SOS 2026 Summit, we are thrilled to share one of the most defining moments of our gathering: the official commissioning of Portland’s very first Agamine Smart Solar Streetlights.

On the evening of Day 1 of the Summit, our global team gathered at the Goodling Community Solar Annex alongside our partners at Verde to cut the ribbon. Today, we are immensely proud to announce that the technology-enhanced street-lamps are officially installed and shining brightly!

Illuminating the “Smart Oregon” Vision

Located on Port of Portland land and funded through the Portland Clean Energy Fund (PCEF), Verde’s 1 MW Goodling Community Solar Annex is a powerful beacon of urban equity and clean energy. By integrating two Agamine Double PV Off-Grid Solar Streetlights into this site, we are delivering on the promise of the future of urban living. At SOS, we believe that sustainable energy is not optional—it is foundational to the long-term success and impact of any Smart City initiative.

The Agamine Technical Edge in Action

These are not just lights; they are intelligent, off-grid infrastructure. As Summit attendees witnessed firsthand, these streetlamps are now fully operational, drawing power entirely from their solar-charged batteries without any reliance on a central grid.

  • 100% Off-Grid Reliability: By operating independently, these lights reduce stress on the grid and avoid blackouts.
  • 360-Degree Energy Yield: Our German-engineered vertical power tube PV-Module draws light from all directions, picking up both direct and indirect sunlight.
  • Cost-Effective & Rapid Deployment: With easy plug-and-play installation, there is no need for costly trenching, which significantly reduces the total project cost. Moving forward, the Goodling site will benefit from savings on electricity and no maintenance costs.
  • Unmatched Resilience: The self-cleaning PV module is unsusceptible to dust, sand, and snow, and is proven in extreme weather conditions, hot and cold.

A Partnership for a Smarter Tomorrow

This historic ribbon-cutting brought together key global innovators, including Bernhard Kolk (CTO of Agamine Solar), Barry Redman (COO of SOS America), Patrice Tsague (CEO of SOS America), and other SOS partners. It was a powerful reminder that when we operate at the intersection of clean energy, emerging technology, and intelligent urban design, we help communities thrive.

The success at Verde proves that true smart city integration is already here. We collaborate with cities, developers, and organizations to build smarter, greener, and more connected communities for future generations.
