SOS NetZero, in partnership with XCharge North America, has proudly completed the sale and installation of Oregon’s first solar-plus-storage DC fast-charging station, now operational at Wildhorse Resort & Casino’s Arrowhead Travel Plaza.
This groundbreaking project represents a new era in clean transportation and smart energy infrastructure, integrating solar generation, energy storage, and advanced EV charging technology into one sustainable system designed for efficiency, reliability, and resilience.
A Milestone for Sustainable Mobility in Oregon
The Arrowhead Travel Plaza installation features four dual-dispenser XCharge GridLink DC fast chargers, each equipped with 215kWh of battery capacity and 40kW of solar power, capable of delivering up to 194kW per unit. Together, these systems provide a seamless and high-speed charging experience while reducing strain on the electrical grid.
The SOS NetZero team played a pivotal role in delivering the project—supplying and installing the chargers and solar system, coordinating with tribal leadership, and ensuring full system integration in compliance with state and federal renewable energy standards.
“This project demonstrates what’s possible when technology, sustainability, and partnership align,” said Patrice Tsague, CEO of SOS. “We’re honored to help power Oregon’s first solar-supplemented EV charging site, showcasing how renewable energy and smart infrastructure can transform transportation across the Pacific Northwest.”

A Strategic Site for Travelers and the Environment
Located on the tribal lands of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, the Arrowhead Travel Plaza serves more than 1.7 million vehicles annually along Interstate 84. The new system ensures drivers have reliable access to clean energy while reducing emissions and supporting the Tribe’s environmental stewardship goals.
“Helping the Tribe realize its vision for a sustainable future aligns perfectly with SOS NetZero’s mission to enable communities and businesses to achieve carbon-neutral growth through innovative smart energy solutions,” added Barry Redman, SOS VP of Operations.
Partnerships Driving Innovation
The project was made possible through a collaborative effort among:
- SOS NetZero: Supplier and installer of the solar-integrated EV charging systems.
- XCharge North America: Manufacturer of the GridLink DC fast chargers.
- Wildhorse Resort & Casino: Host site and sustainability partner
“We chose XCharge technology and SOS NetZero’s team because their integrated solar and storage solutions provide both operational and economic advantages for our customers,” said Tom Fine, General Manager of Arrowhead Travel Plaza.

Smart Energy Meets Smart Infrastructure
The GridLink chargers deployed at Arrowhead feature:
- 215kWh expandable battery capacity for energy storage.
- Bidirectional charging for grid support and backup power.
- Integrated fire suppression and safety systems.
- Direct photovoltaic integration to maximize solar efficiency.
These capabilities make the Pendleton site one of the most advanced EV charging locations in the state, combining energy resilience, grid flexibility, and zero-emission performance.
Leading the Way to a Net-Zero Future
For SOS, this project reinforces its position as a regional leader in smart renewable energy, EV charging infrastructure, and sustainable city innovation. It sets a precedent for future tribal, municipal, and commercial projects aiming to reduce carbon emissions while building the energy networks of tomorrow.
