First Quarter Review and Looking Forward
On May 8, 2026, the team at SOS America gathered for the annual SOS Team Retreat, a full day dedicated to reflection, strategy, growth, and encouragement as the company looked back on the accomplishments of the first quarter and prepared for the opportunities ahead.
The retreat brought together leadership, sales teams, partners, and staff members for a meaningful time of collaboration and vision alignment. The day balanced business strategy with personal encouragement, reinforcing the company’s culture of innovation, purpose, and teamwork.
The retreat opened with prayer led by Gabriel Abac, setting the tone for a day centered not only on performance and planning, but also on gratitude and perspective.
A Devotional on Purpose, Providence, and Perspective

One of the most impactful moments of the morning came through the devotional shared by retired astronaut and SOS Technical Advisor and CEO of SOS Global Colonel Jeff Williams. Drawing from Psalm 57, Colonel Williams reflected on the themes of trust, providence, and purpose, encouraging the team to maintain an eternal perspective even amid challenges and uncertainty.
Focusing on Psalm 57:2, “I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills His purpose for me,” Colonel Williams reminded attendees that while circumstances may shift, purpose and direction are ultimately grounded in God’s providence. He reflected on David writing the psalm while hiding in a cave from Saul, yet still expressing confidence in God’s sovereignty and faithfulness.
Throughout the devotional, he emphasized the tension between temporary struggles and eternal hope. Whether in seasons of hardship or success, he encouraged the team to remain humble, dependent, and steadfast, recognizing that God continues to work through every circumstance.
The devotional deeply resonated with many in attendance and set a thoughtful and encouraging tone for the remainder of the retreat.
Science, Faith, and the Vision Behind the PNW Science and Wonder Center

Following the devotional and team reflections, Colonel Jeff Williams shared an update on the vision and development of the PNW Science and Wonder Center, a major initiative led by Col Jeff Williams focused on science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics through a biblical worldview.
Developed through the Spaceflight Foundation nonprofit initiative, the planned future center is envisioned as both a national destination and a regional educational resource. Colonel Williams explained that the project will complement destinations such as the Museum of the Bible and the Ark Encounter while uniquely focusing on the relationship between faith and scientific exploration.
A central theme of the presentation was addressing the misconception that science and Christianity are in conflict. Drawing from his NASA experience and historical research, Colonel Williams emphasized that many foundational scientists were motivated by their Christian faith and that the center’s mission is to “redeem STEAM through a biblical worldview.” Throughout the presentation, he emphasized collaboration, stewardship, and building a lasting legacy that inspires curiosity, strengthens faith, and equips future generations. After lunch, discussions shifted toward growth priorities and future planning. Leadership challenged the team to think carefully about the company’s next stage of development and how each department contributes to long-term success. The afternoon focused heavily on Q2 sales strategy, execution, and alignment across teams.
Building More Than a Company
The retreat concluded with a final takeaway session, where attendees reflected on lessons learned and shared practical insights they intended to carry into the next quarter. A closing prayer brought the day to an end, reinforcing the spirit of unity, gratitude, and purpose that characterized the retreat from beginning to end.
As SOS moves into the next phase of 2026, the retreat served as an important reminder that growth is not measured solely by numbers but also by the strength of vision, teamwork, perseverance, and shared purpose.
