From a surfing trip to a global mission with Agamine Solar

Agamine Solar Co-Founder and CTO Bernhard Kolk Visits SOS Headquarter in the United States

We recently had the honor of hosting Bernhard Kolk, Co-Founder and CTO of Agamine Solar, at our U.S. headquarters. As the manufacturer of the world-leading Smart Solar Power Streetlight known for its resilience and future ready technology, Agamine Solar provides the first technology to fully integrate into Smart City infrastructure while also proving capable of powering major highways entirely off-grid.

The visit served as a foundational step in our joint strategy to establish the Agamine Solar Powered Streetlight as the #1 solar lighting solution in North America. During his stay, Bernhard toured our SOS Technology Innovation Centers in Vancouver, WA, and Orlando, FL, and visited active installations and future projects with partners in Florida like Trail Moss, Hope Center West, and SixTen.

From a Surfing Trip to a Global Mission

Agamine Solar’s story began with a simple yet powerful idea:
What if we could bring light to underserved communities using the power of the sun?

What started during a surfing trip in Morocco evolved into a mission-driven company committed to:

  • Improving safety and security
  • Expanding economic opportunities
  • Enhancing quality of life in developing regions

To make this vision sustainable, Agamine strategically introduced its products into developed markets—reducing costs and enabling broader access globally.

This mission strongly aligns with SOS’s long-term vision to expand impact across Africa and Latin America, ensuring that:

  • Children can study at night
  • Women feel safe in their communities
  • Entrepreneurs can operate beyond daylight hours

Engineering Excellence: The “Secret Sauce”

What makes Agamine the most reliable name across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe?

  • German Engineering: The patented Cylindrical PV module allows for a 360-degree energy yield, drawing light from all directions—direct and indirect.
  • Extreme Resilience: Designed to perform in the hottest deserts of the UAE and the coldest winters in England.
  • Self-Cleaning Technology: The vertical tubes are unsusceptible to dust, sand, and snow, ensuring consistent performance without maintenance costs.
  • Future-Ready Intelligence: Beyond illumination, these poles serve as catalysts for Smart City connectivity, supporting AI integration, IoT sensors, and high-efficiency energy production.

Bringing Manufacturing Home to North America

To meet the growing demand and ensure rapid delivery (30–90 days), SOS has entered an agreement to bring manufacturing to North America.

  • Timeline: Pole manufacturing begins in Mexico and assembly in the United States, with the first North American-made poles available by Q4 of this year with the goal to eventually bring the PV Manufacturing to the US.
  • Impact: This move simplifies the supply chain, reduces greenhouse emissions, and creates American jobs while leveraging local innovation.

Our 2030 Roadmap: Leading the Market

SOS has set an ambitious trajectory to make Agamine Solar Powered Streetlight #1 in North American:

2026 Goal: 250 to 1,000 installations. 2030 Vision: Reaching 100,000+ total installations, averaging 10,000 per year.

Market Impact: By capturing 4% of the market share, we will solidify the Agamine Solar Powered Streetlight as the regional leader in quality, resilience, and smart integration.
